Matchplay is thrilled to announce Old Waverly, a club noted for hosting significant championships, including the Women's U.S. Open, has retained Matchplay to assist with its communications and marketing needs as it evolves into a 36-hole private golf facility.
With its two courses—Old Waverly and Mossy Oak—ranked in the Top 5 in Mississippi and the Top 100 resort courses, the club is moving to a fully private model, including accommodations on site. With an affiliation with Mississippi State University and a vibrant membership, Old Waverly is working with Matchplay on branding, internal and external communications, and media relations.
"To partner with a club of the quality of Old Waverly is exciting as the opportunity to move the club forward is so significant," says Matchplay co-founder David Cowx. "Working with people of the quality of General Manager Jim Clay and the ownership group that includes former PGA Tour major champion Jerry Pate is why we're in this business in the first place."
Matchplay's Creative Director, Katelynn Allen, along with Senior Editor Jeff Brooke, will lead the account and help foster a new narrative for Old Waverly going forward.
